Entanglements is a two person exhibition featuring new paintings by Eleanor Johnson and Lydia Makin. Bringing their practices into dialogue, the exhibition examines how gestural abstraction intersects with references to Baroque painting. Through improvisational mark making, layered surfaces, and bodily scale, the works emphasize process, excess, and painterly instability while reworking historical visual languages within a contemporary context.
