Surprise! at Et al. etc. began as a collaborative idea, turned solo effort, and eventually became a surprise even to the organizer. Artists were invited late, asked to send wrapped works without knowing who else was participating. On opening day, two shows were deinstalled and this one installed on the spot. The result is a gathering of sincere, specific works—some humorous, some portrait-based—meant to be considered slowly, together.
