The Sky Below features eight Bay Area artists drawing from feminist science and speculative fiction to envision futures rooted in care, memory, and ecology. Inspired by authors like Ursula K. LeGuin and Octavia Butler, their work turns sci-fi inward, grounding cosmic ideas in craft, new media, and lived experience. These visions shift focus from conquest to connection, imagining expansive futures emerging from below rather than above.
