Angel City Arts returns to REDCAT with its annual Jazz Refractions Festival, featuring Qur’an Shaheed and Mekala Session in dialogue with the Pan Afrikan Peoples Arkestra. Rooted in jazz’s traditions of improvisation and freedom, the program bends and transforms the genre through film, electronics, composition, and collective performance, revealing new forms through Angel City’s prism.
