Diamond Garden for Cornelia is Harkawik’s third show with Bay Area painter Karen Barbour. Some canvases date to her 1980s New York years and have been reworked across decades. Jeweled flower stalks, fragmented bodies and family stories, including the name Cornelia passed to each generation’s second daughter, grow over one another like a garden, nothing thrown away.
