The Weight of it All is a solo exhibition by Don Pendleton at Heron Arts. The title is a double entendre, alluding to the bold, heavy lines in Pendleton's paintings and the political and cultural upheavals occurring worldwide. Heavily influenced by skateboard graphics of the 1980s, his work focuses on containing colorful shapes within black lines, using clean swooping curves in acrylic to document the human condition: tension, loss, grief, and the struggle to exist in environments we cannot control. Pendleton is a Grammy Award-winning designer and illustrator based in Dayton, OH.
