*Under the Same Sky* brings together the work of Heekyoung Jeon and Hiva Alizadeh, examining how experiences of nature and place are mediated through memory, emotion, and material. Rather than representing landscape descriptively, both artists transform external environments into subjective and culturally inflected spaces. Jeon’s paintings draw on encounters with oceans and forests, using gestural marks, saturated color, and atmospheric passages to move between figuration and abstraction. Alizadeh constructs wall-based works from dense fields of synthetic hair, whose color and materiality evoke both abstract landscapes and the woven traditions of Kerman. A newly commissioned architectural arch extends this practice into three dimensions, inviting viewers to physically move through a suspended field of color and material. Across distinct geographic and cultural contexts, the artists converge in their exploration of landscape as an internal, embodied, and mutable experience.
