Eye Candy pairs the intricate sculptures of Thomas Lanigan-Schmidt with the photography of Bill Costa. In the early 1990s, Lanigan-Schmidt requested imagery from Costa's iconic male nude portraits to embed into a new series of crowns, bouquets, and candy dishes—glittering, kaleidoscopic objects built from aluminum foil, cellophane, and pipe cleaners. The exhibition reunites Costa's lifetime of prints with the sculptures they inspired, celebrating a rare creative exchange between two gay artists with a shared obsession with the sacred, the profane, and the human body.
