Zanele Muholi's Faces and Phases 19 at Southern Guild, Los Angeles, continues a 19-year photographic journey capturing Black lesbian, bisexual, Queer, Trans, and gender non-conforming individuals. Initially focused on South Africa, the project has expanded globally, offering an evolving, living archive that confronts colonial narratives, systemic violence, and identity politics.
