3:55 PM Victoria Sambunaris: Fall Line presents seven large-scale photographs of the Colorado River system — its tributaries, drainage basins, and monumental terrains shaped by the river's presence and absence — taken over several years with a large-format wooden field camera. Sambunaris traverses terrain on foot, waiting hours for precise light, her awesome perspectives quietly troubled by power lines, housing developments, and human figures reduced to microscopic scale. Building on her 2023 exhibition High and Dry, the work extends from northeast Colorado to the Mexican border, situating the river's depletion within deep geological time while vividly depicting the abiding beauty of what can still be lost.
