Flat is a solo exhibition by Szelit Cheung. Through oil paintings on linen and wood, the artist examines the relationship between presence and emptiness, rendering luminous architectural spaces devoid of figures. Working from cardboard models and studies of light in Hong Kong and Melbourne, Cheung explores how illumination and shadow shape spatial perception and transform flat planes into volumetric form.
