Fluctuations is a solo exhibition by Karen Tompkins, comprising acrylic paintings on canvas that consider perception as continually forming. Drawing on ideas from contemporary physics, the works translate concepts of energy and fluctuation into layered pigment and light-responsive surfaces. As viewers move, color and spatial depth shift, emphasizing painting as a temporal and perceptual field.
