Flora Yukhnovich: Four Seasons

The Frick Collection New York · Uptown
Exhibition on view: Sep 3, 2025 - Mar 9, 2026

Taking inspiration from the French Rococo, Italian Baroque, and Abstract Expressionist movements, Flora Yukhnovich (b. England, 1990) creates work that is at once modern and timeless by translating historic compositions into contemporary abstractions. Using the Frick’s Four Seasons by François Boucher as a point of departure, Yukhnovich’s site-specific mural covers the walls of the museum’s Cabinet.

Flora Yukhnovich

Flora Yukhnovich is a contemporary British artist celebrated for her lush, expressive reinterpretations of Rococo aesthetics. Born in 1990, she studied at the City & Guilds of London Art School, graduating with an MA in Fine Art in 2017. Yukhnovich draws inspiration from 18th-century painters like François Boucher and Jean-Honoré Fragonard, blending their opulent palettes and romantic motifs with a distinctly modern, gestural approach. Her canvases explore femininity, beauty, and art history through abstraction and sensuality. Yukhnovich’s work has been exhibited internationally and is held in major public and private collections. She is represented by Victoria Miro Gallery and Hauser & Wirth.
