Franne Davids (1950–2022) painted for nearly forty years in her parents’ Connecticut basement after a schizophrenia diagnosis, filling flat, patterned spaces with women alone or in groups. Unknown in her lifetime, she gained notice in New York in 2024. Her first Paris show imagines her mysterious, undocumented visit to the city in the early 1970s.
