This presentation examines abstract art since 1950, bringing together artists who use abstraction to convey intangible and nonrepresentational ideas. The works range from gestural approaches that foreground process to restrained explorations of color and form, emphasizing the evolving definitions of abstraction. The installation draws from works in the Fisher Collection and the museum’s permanent collection through an ongoing institutional partnership.
