This exhibition presents paintings by Jay DeFeo from 1982 to 1989, marking her return to oil paint after an extended period working in other media. Ranging from large abstractions to intimate works on linen, the paintings emphasize tactility, fluidity of form, and gestural focus. Drawing on still lifes, collages, and landscape experience, the works transform reference material into inward, expressive imagery, representing a culminating phase of DeFeo’s practice.
