Gateway (repaved) is a site specific installation by Jennifer Chia-Ling Ho that transforms the gallery into a climbing wall with ropes made from English vocabulary flashcards and jade like rock holds. Drawing from her immigration from Taiwan to the United States, Ho examines language acquisition, assimilation, and access to opportunity, considering how cultural grounding supports adaptation and ascent.
