Purvai Rai’s Gestures of Infinity presents sculptural works shaped by devotional, intergenerational techniques such as weaving, stitching, dotting, and gilding. Drawing from Punjab’s agrarian landscape, Sikh and Sufi traditions, and the 2020 farmers’ protests, Rai centers repetition as resistance and care. Her multi-scalar works, often collaborative, evoke land, memory, and ancestral knowledge, layering domestic, spiritual, and political dimensions into deeply embodied acts of making.
