YveYANG Gallery presents goes around in circles, til very, very dizzy, Huidi Xiang’s first New York solo show, exploring labor in late-stage capitalism through Disney’s Cinderella (1950). A giant sewing needle, disembodied rodent hands, and aluminum hats evoke the unseen labor behind consumerism. Inspired by the gallery’s past as a sewing machine factory, Xiang connects history, industry, and animated nostalgia, making invisible work visible through sculpture and installation.
