Grisette à l’enfer at Amant marks the U.S. institutional debut of Women’s History Museum (Mattie Barringer and Amanda McGowan). Working across garments, sculpture, and performance, they revisit the grisette—17th-century working women in fashion—examining her contradictions as laborer, style icon, and stereotype. Through sculptural installations and couture works, WHM reimagines her as a figure of survival, exhaustion, and post-capitalist reinvention.
