One Art Space presents a Black History Month exhibition honoring Purvis Young (1943–2010), featuring the first New York display of his monumental Guardian Angel. Guided by visions of angels, Young shifted from anger toward images of hope, joy, and healing. Many works have never been publicly shown. Using urgent figuration, he reflects on social realities and imagines a better future.
