Hellbent For presents new paintings by James Gobel that examine domestic space, coded visibility, and queer communal life. Using Flashe paint and stitched linework, the works build ornamental yet architectural surfaces that hold personal references, symbols, and embedded text. The paintings function as intimate tableaux where memory, desire, humor, and private signals accumulate through objects and pattern.
