This Earthen Door draws on Emily Dickinson’s deep botanical interests, reimagining her 19th-century herbarium through a modern lens. Artists Marchand and Sobsey recreated her plant collection using anthotypes and flower-based pigment grids. Working from their own gardens, they revived nearly all 400 species Dickinson once preserved. The project honors her legacy, bridging past and present through nature, poetry, and a shared connection to the fleeting beauty of plants.
