Holly Roberts combines photography, painting, and collage to create psychologically charged images that blur dream and reality. Emerging in the 1970s with painted black-and-white photographs, she later developed hybrid figures assembled from photographic fragments, art historical references, and animal forms. Her surreal compositions explore identity, mythology, and the subconscious, while recent works reflect on humanity’s relationship with the natural world and our kinship with animals.
