Arshile Gorky: Horizon West focuses on the artist’s transcontinental journey with Agnes Magruder and Isamu Noguchi and its impact on his approach to landscape. Presenting works made before and after the trip, the exhibition traces shifts in scale, perception, and abstraction, from western vistas to the fields of Virginia, including rarely seen paintings and works from an early museum presentation.
