Almine Rech New York presents Hourglass, Heather Day’s second solo exhibition with the gallery. Drawing on Mojave Desert sunrises, sunsets, and Oregon’s seasonal blooms, Day captures time through color and the movement of wet paint. By cutting and stitching stained canvases into geometric configurations, she creates triangular forms that impose structure on fleeting abstractions, suggesting sequential moments and attempts to arrest the passage of time.
