HOW MUCH WATTAGE IS ONE HANDBREATH OF WATER?

Storefront for Art and Architecture New York · Lower East Side / East Village
Exhibition on view: Jan 23, 2025 - Apr 26, 2025

This exhibition examines the intersection of transnational energy networks and indigenous communities, focusing on Thailand’s Vajiralongkorn Reservoir and Singapore’s Jewel Rain Vortex. Artists Jingru (Cyan) Cheng and Chen Zhan present an immersive film and sound installation that contrasts these sites, recontextualizing hydroelectric flows and their cultural impact. Part of Swamplands, Storefront’s research initiative, the project explores water’s ecological, social, and economic complexities.
