Hypersurface of the Present is an exhibition of new sculptures by Jacci Den Hartog that trace the fluid interconnection between what is earthbound (sewers, trusses, drains, unseen infrastructure beneath our feet) and what is celestial (sky, atmosphere, light). Hartog draws on geology, urban infrastructure, and perception to explore the experiential possibilities of space, material, and movement. The works consider structure and instability, interiority and environment, seeking openings that allow light in and the gaze to go out.
