Helm Contemporary is pleased to present “I Knew It Once Before”, a group exhibition in partnership with the School of Visual Arts bringing together twelve artists working across mediums including installation, painting, works on paper, and more. An intimate space is created by the work that welcomes viewers to respond to their own life paths, where familiarity and estrangement co-exist, embracing nostalgia through the layering of sensations and materials. By visiting personal and collective experiences, the artists examine how the past can be transformed and re-learned through imagination and symbolic language.
