Imagining Elsewhere marks the 35th anniversary of Salman Rushdie's Imaginary Homelands, gathering eight artists who traverse great distances to conjure places remembered, misremembered, inherited, or invented. Landscape here is not fixed reality but a site of projection—shaped by fantasy, memory, and desire. Working across representational and abstract modes, the artists suggest that landscape is not simply observed but continually produced through acts of imagining and longing.
