Margot Samel presents Imago, Carolina Fusilier’s first U.S. solo exhibition. Inspired by the 1962 sci-fi film Ikaria XB1, her work constructs a fictional, immersive cosmos where paintings act as remnants of a vanished spaceship crew. Precision-rendered still lifes, mysterious objects, and trompe l’oeil effects evoke a dreamlike narrative. Through cosmic, surreal elements—like biotech butterflies and haunting moths—Fusilier conjures a psychic voyage through illusion, memory, and the unknown.
