In Light of Innocence marks Raúl de Nieves’s first solo institutional exhibition in NYC, transforming Pioneer Works’ Main Hall into a radiant, cathedral-like space. Using everyday materials like acetate and tape, de Nieves creates 50 faux stained-glass panels and a lightbox mural inspired by Catholicism, tarot, and Mexican folklore. His immersive installation invites reflection on transformation, light, and the poetic possibilities found in both language and material.
