This exhibition celebrates the groundbreaking vision of Richard Marquis, a pivotal figure in contemporary glass art, whose lifelong fascination with transportation has profoundly shaped his work. Rooted in the California art scene of the 1960s and 1970s, Marquis drew from Funk Art’s irreverence and Pop Art’s cultural critique to transform glass into a conceptual medium. Featuring 20 dynamic works inspired by cars, boats, and the bold patterns of Razzle Dazzle camouflage ships, In Motion underscores Marquis’s technical mastery and storytelling.
