At SculptureCenter, Zishi Han and Wei Yang expand their research into historical Chinese homoerotic literature, weaving narratives of queer existence in China and its diaspora. Rooted in their translation of the late Ming anthology Biàn ér chāi, their work reimagines its stories through performance and video. Engaging with poetry, opera, painting, Danmei literature, and pop culture, they navigate the space between fiction and biography, exploring desire, identity, and cultural fluidity.
