In the Midst, curated by Jayne Johnson with Bea Scaccia, gathers artists across generations whose works evoke liminality—states of transition, ambiguity, and transformation. Through figuration, abstraction, and material experimentation, the exhibition explores the body, identity, and psychological space. From Kiki Smith’s introspective portraits to Tecla Tofano’s feminist sculptures, the artists probe personal, societal, and symbolic states of flux and reinvention.
