François Ghebaly presents Instructions for Disappearing Territories, a new exhibition by Agustina Woodgate. The Buenos Aires-born, Amsterdam-based artist bridges systems inquiry with meticulous material transformation, exposing the mechanics of power through acts of erosion and redistribution.
The show brings together four interrelated works examining labor, value, time, and circulation. Anchoring the show is WORKOUT (National Times), first shown at the 2019 Whitney Biennial—a set of clocks that wear away their own faces. In The Country in Flames and Wage USA, Woodgate sands currency and maps, collecting and displaying their ink dust like consumer products. Tsunami, from her ARC series, transforms discarded stuffed animals into elaborate textile rugs, tracing global manufacturing and waste cycles.
Together, these works suggest new ways of relating—across geographies, time, and community.
