Jacaranda June, JJ Manford’s debut at Nazarian / Curcio, features vibrant paintings of imagined interiors and landscapes inspired by iconic Los Angeles architecture, including works by Lautner, Gehry, and the Eames. Using oil stick, oil pastel, and Flashe on burlap, Manford crafts richly textured, dreamlike spaces filled with mid-century design, personal memory, and cultural symbols. His works capture the tension between memory and imagination, evoking the resilience of LA’s architectural legacy despite recent wildfires.
