Installation view, Jiaming You: Murmuration, THE BLANC, New York, 2026
Jiaming You’s Murmuration fills the gallery’s walls and windows with flocks of bird-shaped panels in mirror acrylic, tinted acrylic, and painted wood, alongside window-like works with hinged glass and painted nebulae. The pieces layer her father’s brain scans, galaxy imagery, a 1975 Chicago visa letter, and a 13th-century Chinese star map. The work explores migration, borders, family, and the longing for freedom.
