June Edmonds’ first major New York solo exhibition, The Sky Remains the Same, presents new paintings inspired by the ebe-amẹn, or river leaf, motif from the Kingdom of Benin. Using impasto, vibrant color, and geometric quatrefoil forms, Edmonds foregrounds inner strength amid shifting perspectives. The works emphasize pattern, texture, and meditative repetition, inviting reflection on resilience, continuity, and the enduring power of historic symbols.
