KAWS: FAMILY explores the playful and poignant artistic universe created by KAWS, marking the artist's first major museum exhibition on the West Coast. Tracing KAWS's output over three decades, the exhibition features paintings, drawings, sculptures, advertising interventions, product collaborations, and collectible toys that showcase the artist's distinctive language using recurring characters and pop culture appropriations. At the heart is FAMILY (2021), a larger-than-life bronze sculpture portraying KAWS's beloved characters COMPANION, BFF, and CHUM as an intimate family unit, inviting visitors to see themselves reflected in these figures and creating a shared sense of kinship and empathy.
