Virginia Chihota: Kutera mutsara / Hearing Inner presents works on paper and large-scale canvases that synthesize screen printing, drawing, and painting into a single embodied practice. Chihota approaches the canvas directly, following contours as they surface rather than pursuing a predetermined image — describing the process as a conversation conducted both audibly and internally. Human figures emerge and dissolve in varying states of becoming, each canvas functioning as a room the artist actively constructs through line, gesture, and brushstroke. For an artist whose life has been defined by relocation, the work serves as a stable site for self-excavation amid constant flux.
