Maya Jeffereis presents a video and installation exploring Japanese migration to Brazil in the early 20th century. Using archival footage, 16mm film, and plant-based photographic processes, she examines labor, diaspora, and cultural inheritance. Her work weaves personal and collective histories, highlighting resilience under oppression, while reimagining archives and land as spaces of belonging, continuity, and community beyond national boundaries.
