Out There presents new paintings by Laura Newman that expand her abstract language into layered, shifting spaces. Inspired by the changing architecture of Brooklyn and ideas of active negative space, the works evoke scaffolds, windows, and spatial rhythms rather than fixed images. Using varied paints and handmade wasli paper, Newman builds luminous structures where pours, lines, and abrasions invite movement, openness, and exploration.
