Lee ShinJa: Drawing with Thread

Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive San Francisco · Berkeley
Exhibition on view: Aug 6, 2025 - Feb 1, 2026

Lee ShinJa: Drawing with Thread is the first North American survey of Korean artist Lee ShinJa, spanning over five decades of work. Featuring forty textile pieces, maquettes, and sketches, the exhibition highlights her inventive use of materials like grain sacks and salvaged yarn. Lee’s practice merges techniques such as weaving and embroidery to create bold sculptural forms, challenging conventional ideas of craft and expanding the expressive potential of fiber art.
