Left Hand, Right Hand is a major exhibition of recent works by Sir Christopher Le Brun and Charlotte Verity. It marks the first time the two renowned British painters exhibit together in the U.S.
Married since 1979, Le Brun and Verity share a lifelong artistic dialogue shaped by distinct sensibilities. Le Brun’s work, driven by imagination and the act of painting itself, explores shifting seasons through layered color and light, as seen in Small Seasons, Summer (2023) and Phases of the Moon IV (2024). Verity’s still lifes, including Glance (2021) and Anemones (2021), are precise yet open, balancing intense observation with delicacy.
Together, their works reveal a shared sensitivity to nature’s rhythms. Featuring some of their largest canvases to date, Left Hand, Right Hand highlights their deeply connected yet contrasting approaches.
