Babst Gallery presents Leo Krikorian, featuring vibrant hard-edge acrylic paintings by the late artist. A student of Josef Albers and peer to key cultural figures, Krikorian helped define the Beat scene in 1950s San Francisco before relocating to Paris. There, he developed a style focused on spatial tension and reverse symmetry. His vivid compositions manipulate color, shape, and balance to create what he described as “Implied Space”—a dynamic play between illusion and structure.
