
Linnea Paskow: Ecstatic Collapse presents large-scale paintings made on drop cloths spread across a Bushwick rooftop, unleashing what the artist describes as a Pollock-like chromatic storm through an unabashedly feminist lens. Loosely corresponding to the classical elements — earth, air, fire, and water — as energy states rather than illustrations, the works resist resolution, suspended between coherence and unraveling. Plastic debris, rooftop skies, animal forms, and gestural marks accumulate until a fragile order emerges, images surfacing and dissolving within fields of color and texture. The paintings circle a wound, the artist says, where destruction and elemental force lead toward spiritual transformation.
