Minoosh Zomorodinia: Making Space

San Francisco Arts Commission San Francisco · Civic Center
Exhibition on view: May 7, 2026 - Aug 1, 2026

Making Space features multidisciplinary artist Minoosh Zomorodinia’s exploration of walking as a form of mapping, using technology to trace the movement of her body through time and space. Transforming ephemeral performances into drawings, sculptures, and other works, the exhibition considers how physical movement can create lasting records of presence and place.

By documenting her own routes, Zomorodinia challenges conventional ideas of borders, land ownership, and belonging, inviting viewers to reflect on the relationships between identity, geography, and power. Curated by Raya Vinar, the exhibition presents a range of works that reimagine these recorded paths through varied forms, emphasizing the body’s role in shaping and experiencing the spaces it inhabits.
