Anton Kern Gallery presents Margot Bergman’s fifth solo exhibition in New York, bringing together paintings from 2012–2014 with large-scale portraits from 2015–2019. Bergman’s surreal works transform plants, animals, patterns, and faces through expressive, rule-breaking gestures. Her imagined women emerge from raw, layered imagery, embracing imperfection, humor, and the tension between forming and unraveling.
