SoiL Thornton: Metabolizing eviction try, work_mp3 and other games of topping traces the fragile entanglements of life, labor, health, and property through video, document, and installation. A large-scale video slows 79 artist lectures to match every utterance of "work" in Rihanna's 2016 hit, dissolving the word between effort and refrain. Eviction documents, curator correspondence, and a dish towel from the artist's apartment frame production funds partly redirected toward eviction relief. Dried lavender indexed to the curator's weight spreads underfoot; a mattress sits displaced inside an inflatable structure. Throughout, support, access, and visibility are revealed as conditional rather than neutral.
